Beach Home Interior Design

My clients’ Jersey shore home was destroyed during Tropical Storm Sandy. As I had dressed their windows before, they called on me to work with them once again.

Nautical Interior Decorations and Custom Window Shades & Shutters

The new home had much larger windows to fully enjoy the magnificent ocean view. As the windows are east facing, they needed blackout shades so they could sleep in on lazy summer days. We decided on motorization for the larger windows, but the clients didn't like cassettes or valances. As they brought me in early in the construction phase, I worked with their builder to create a cohesive design that blended seamlessly with their nautical décor and shiplap detail. The ultimate solution to hide the shades were custom designed cornices built into the trim.

In the other bedrooms, I designed banded custom Roman shades and specified lined natural woven wood shades that were in keeping with the 'beachy' vibe.  Custom shutters were the perfect solution for the bathrooms.
