Time to decorate?

I know, you’re thinking…Christmas decorations already? Holiday entertaining is just around the corner. I always say I’m going to get a head start on my holiday shopping, but I end up running around in December looking for just the right thing. If you get overwhelmed by the holidays and feel like it’s just too much -the decorating, the shopping, the cooking - you don’t have to do it all. Hiring an expert can save you time, money and stress. This month, I thought I’d share some great new resources that could make your holidays a bit easier!

Here are a few of my new ‘go tos’

Shopping

I just found a personal shopper, Sue Squires, from Macy’s in Bridgewater. She offers exceptional customer service and finds just the right look and fit for her clients. And she doesn’t just do clothes-she can show you where all the best deals in the store are!! Best of all – her service is FREE!!

Cooking

Think about a caterer. I swore I’d never cater a holiday meal but I have two caterers that I met recently, who offer unique fare. Pat Miller, from Blue Moon Culinary https://www.facebook.com/bluemoonculinary/ offers Gluten/Grain Free, Vegan, Vegetarian, Paleo, Ketogenic/Low Carb & Dairy Free food that is simply delicious! Muriel at Touch of Paris (pictured here) is also a personal chef and caterer cooking up delicious French fare. https://www.facebook.com/TouchOfParisBaking/

Decorating

There are companies out there will come in and decorate your home for the holidays. And if you want to redecorate so your house looks fabulous for the holidays - Just call ME!!! Christmas and Hanukkah are only 18 weeks away. I know that seems like a lot of time, but not from a designer’s perspective. You can, however, give your home a beautiful refresh without knocking down walls. If you’re thinking about a kitchen or bath remodel, you’re cutting it close to completing the project by the holidays. You do however have plenty of time to redecorate if you get started soon.

Although HGTV makes it look like you can decorate a house in a day, here are some realistic lead times for items you may be considering.

· Custom soft fashions (drapes, valances, cornices, bedding)4-6 weeks

· Shades and blinds 2-4 weeks, Shutters 6-8 weeks

· Custom furniture 8-12 weeks

· Painters/installers 2-3 weeks

Think true custom isn’t in your budget? I work with several furniture manufacturers that make gorgeous furniture at reasonable prices. Prefer to DIY? I have several clients that just like a little guidance and confirmation that they’re going in the right direction with their design.
